Public AI assistants are good. Genuinely. ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, all of them. But they share one habit that should make anyone in a regulated business a little nervous. To answer a question about your data, they usually need your data to leave home first. It has to travel to the model before the model can make sense of it.

For a chemical maker, a bank, a food producer that guards its cost structure like a state secret, that one step isn’t a preference you can negotiate around. It’s a wall. This brings about the real question. It was never “can GenAI answer this.” It’s “can it answer without my data going anywhere at all.”

Step one: you ask, in plain language

Picture a detailed map of your data instead of the data. OmniChat reads the map, figures out which sources and fields your question is pointing at, and builds the query it needs to run. Your raw records sit this whole part out. They never get shipped anywhere to be understood, because understanding the question simply doesn’t need them.

Step three: the query runs where your data already lives

Now the query has to go fetch a real answer.

Here’s where a public tool would pull your data out to the model. OmniChat does the exact opposite. The query runs against your data in place. On your servers, your private cloud, or fully on-premise if your security team won’t have it any other way.

The records stay put. What travels back is the result, the answer to your specific question, and nothing else. Your underlying data never makes the trip.

It also plugs into what you already run. Excel, CSV, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Snowflake, plant historians, the lot. No rip and replace, no year-long migration.

And role based access sits over all of it, so the system only ever touches what a given person is cleared to see. The CFO’s view and the line supervisor’s view aren’t the same, and OmniChat sorts that out on its own.

Step four: you get something you can use, not a paragraph to decode

The answer doesn’t land as a wall of text you have to interpret all over again.
